Irina Ivancheva has a long experience in the affairs of Bulgarian institutions for public policy development in the area of culture and media. As a representative of Bulgaria in the OMC - Expert Working Group on maximizing the potential of cultural and creative industries, she participated in the mapping of current national practices in view of proposing improvements to the regulatory and administrative framework. On the national level, she has developed several projects on the subject, including the application form for the UNESCO bid for Sofia Creative City of Film (2014) together with the team of the Observatory of Cultural Economics and joined the group of academic researchers in preparation of study on cultural and creative sector on the territory of Sofia. She currently works in the area of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage through development of cultural and creative sector at the Regional Center for the Safeguarding of Intangibles Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO.
